Setting Up Automated Messages
Automated Messages allow you to set up trigger-based messaging sequences to better engage with your fans. When fans take specific actions, they’ll automatically receive messages based on the conditions and triggers you define.
This feature expands on the previous Welcome Messages capability, giving you even more control with conditionals, delays, and rich text options.
💡The existing Welcome Messages feature is no longer editable. You can still view your old Welcome Messages, but to make changes or create new automated sequences, you’ll need to use the new Automated Messages feature.

Understanding Conditions:
Conditions are rules that determine whether the automation should continue for a specific fan. They help you target the right audience with the right message.
How conditions work:
Add conditions to filter which fans receive your Auto Messages
Combine multiple rules using And/Or logic
By default, multiple conditions stack as either all And or all Or
Use Group Conditions to combine And and Or logic for more complex targeting
Example: You could set up an automation that triggers on membership purchase AND the fan has tipped you before OR has purchased content in the past 30 days.
Building Your Message Sequence:
Triggers determine what fan action starts the automation
Conditions decide who qualifies to receive messages
Auto Messages are the custom messages those qualified fans receive
Add delays between messages to space out your communication
Use rich text formatting to make your messages more engaging
💡You can create multiple steps in a single automation, allowing you to build sophisticated messaging sequences based on fan behavior.

❓FAQ
Q: What happened to my existing Welcome Messages?
A: Your existing Welcome Messages are still visible but can no longer be edited. To make changes or create new welcome sequences, use the Automated Messages feature with the "On Follow" trigger.
Q: Can I set up multiple automations for the same trigger?
A: Yes. You can create multiple automations for the same trigger with different conditions to target different fan segments.
Q: How do I add a delay between messages?
A: When adding steps to your automation, you can configure delays between Auto Messages to space out your communication.
Q: What's the difference between a Condition and a Trigger?

A: The same automation will be sent twice. There is no cross-automation checking.

A: Not currently, but this may be added as a condition in the future.
Q: Is there a limit to how many automations are created?
A: Yes. There is a maximum of 20 steps per automation, maximum of 40 automations per creator account, and maximum of 50 conditions per condition step (including nested conditions). Condition steps have a maximum depth of 3 tiers.
Q: How do you check for analytics on the messages created?
A: Messages sent are shown individually in history of Analytics > Messages section of the app.
