You can now create discount codes for when fans try to cancel their membership subscriptions. Additionally, fans will automatically be given the option to pause their membership before finalizing their cancelation.
Setting Up Your Cancelation Discount Code:
How to create the membership cancelation discount code
On the left-hand sidebar, go to the Discounts & Trials page
Click Add Discount or Free Trial
Choose the membership → select Fans Cancelling (Retention)
Set a new discount price percent, how long the discount will be valid, and how many people can redeem the offer
Set an expiration date for the retention discount or check off the “Retention Discount does not expire” box
💡 You do not need to opt in to a separate Pause Membership option. Fans will automatically be given the option to pause their membership.
Pause Membership Flow:
When fans try to cancel their membership, they will go through the following steps:
On the left-hand sidebar, fans will go to Membership
Fans will choose the membership they'd like to cancel and hit Cancel Subscription
They'll be prompted to fill out the feedback form that pops up to continue
Fans have the option to Keep Subscription and Accept Discount or Confirm Cancellation
If they will want to cancel, they now have the option to pause their membership by instead by choosing how long to pause (1 month, 3 months, 6 months) and clicking Pause Membership

Q: Does this feature apply to lifetime subscriptions?
A: No. This will only apply to monthly, quarterly, or annual subscriptions.
Q: If I don’t set up a membership cancelation discount count, do my fans still have the option to pause their membership?
A: Yes. The Pause Membership option will be automatically applied for fans.
