How to Set Up the Passes Discord Integration: Step-by-Step Guide for Creators

Before you begin: Make sure you already have a Discord server set up before starting the integration process. The Passes Bot will need an existing server to connect to.

Step 1: Add a New Integration

Go to Creator Tools in your Passes account
Select the new Integrations feature
In the Integrations Hub, click Add Integration
Select Discord from the list of available integrations
Name your integration when prompted

Step 2: Configure Your Discord Server

After naming your integration, you will be prompted to connect your Discord server
Click Connect your Discord to begin the Discord authentication flow
Once your Discord server is authorized, you will be directed to a setup screen
In your Discord Server settings, drag the Passes Bot above all the roles you want to attach to your Passes membership. This step is required every time you add new roles.
Click Refresh Roles once you are done arranging the bot position
Once your server is successfully connected, you will see a screen with an Add Membership button

Note: If you skip the Discord connection step during setup, your integration will appear in the Active Integrations table with a status of "Not Connected" until you complete the configuration.

Step 3: Attach a Membership Tier to Your Discord Integration

Click Add Membership on the confirmation screen
Select one or more existing Passes memberships to connect to your Discord server
Assign the Discord roles that subscribers at each membership level will receive
Roles can be updated at any time through your Discord server settings

Once complete, fans who purchase the connected membership will automatically receive access to your Discord server and the roles you have assigned.

How the Discord Integration Works for Fans

Once a creator has connected their Discord server to Passes, fans can purchase access to that server as part of their membership.

Here is what the fan experience looks like:

Fan purchases a membership that includes Discord server access
A confirmation screen appears prompting the fan to connect their Discord account
Fan clicks Connect and completes the Discord authorization screen
The Passes Bot automatically grants the fan access to the server and assigns their role

If a membership includes access to multiple integrations or servers, fans will see a screen showing which integrations they have already connected to and which are still available to activate.

If a creator adds a new Discord integration to an existing membership, fans with that membership will be notified that a new integration is available and can manage it directly from their Memberships page.
