Meet the Carello Sisters: How a COVID TikTok Hobby Went Viral and Why They Chose Passes to Connect With Fans

The Carello Sisters, twins Pariya and Pardiss, started filming TikTok dances during COVID just for fun. Their first viral videos were shot at school while they were wearing masks, and the twin content kept blowing up from there. Fans stuck around for the sister dynamic: one plans every minute, the other goes with the flow. Now they're bringing those fans closer. The Carello Sisters are on Passes, the brand-safe subscription platform where creators connect with their audience directly.
Q&A with the Carello Sisters
Take us back to the start. Who started creating first, and how did the other one end up joining in?
Pariya: It all started during COVID when we were bored and started filming TikTok dances for fun. It's actually so funny because our first viral videos were literally us dancing at school wearing masks.
Pardiss: I wanted to post random videos for fun outside of my regular account with my friends so I created @Takemetolax on TikTok. We started posting twin dance videos, and they kept blowing up! We never planned on becoming creators. It all happened organically.
What's it actually like building a brand with your sister? Who's the planner and who's the "let's just film it" one?
Pariya: Pardiss is definitely the planner, and I'm the spontaneous one! She has a plan and a back up plan for every second of her day. I'm more of a go-with-the-flow person, but we balance each other out!
Pardiss: I'm definitely the planner! We both use Google Calendar to schedule our days around school, workouts, filming, and everything else. But outside of that, Pariya is way more spontaneous than me.
You each have your own account. How do you keep your voice while still showing up as a duo?
Pariya: Even though we're twins, we're actually pretty different! We both have our own personalities and styles, so creating our own content comes pretty naturally. At the same time, there are definite similarities. We are twins after all 🙂
Pardiss: I think the fun thing about being twins is that we're similar in some ways but also so different. We each have our own personalities, so it's easy to create content that feels authentic to us individually while still having that twin connection.
What's one moment in your journey so far where you looked at each other and thought, "okay, this is real now"?
Pariya: Definitely when we started getting recognized in public! It was so surreal having people come up to us, especially when we were traveling to different cities around the world. That is when we realized the reach of our content.
Pardiss: A few years back we were at Toronto Blue Jays game and our mom pointed out that if we multiplied all the people in the stadium by 10 that would represent all of our followers. Visualizing it that way made it real.
Sister vs. sister: who's more likely to be late to a shoot, to cry at a movie, and to win an argument?
Pariya: Pardiss is definitely more likely to be late to a shoot. I'm the one who cries at movies, and unfortunately, I think we both feel we win arguments in our own head!
Pardiss: I'm definitely more likely to be late. It's bad. I need to get better. Pariya is more empathetic and refuses to watch sad movies because they always make her cry. I'd say I'm the one who wins most of our arguments but also what we are arguing about matters.
What's a childhood memory that explains exactly who you both are today?
Pariya: When I was like 2, I have a video of me sitting in the bathtub telling my mom, "I'm going to HOLLYWOOD!" I was so convinced I'd make it there one day. I've always been a big dreamer.
Pardiss: When we were little, I used to pull Pariya around in a wagon, and honestly, not much has changed! I'm still the one doing a lot of the organizing and behind-the-scenes work for us, including chasing her to fill out this questionnaire right now!
Describe each other in three words. No conferring.
Pariya (describing Pardiss): Funny, neat freak, hardworking
Pardiss (describing Pariya): Overthinker, empathetic, smart
What made you both decide Passes was the right home for your content?
Pariya: We were only 18 when we joined, so it was really important to us to work with a reputable platform that aligned with our values and didn't promote nudity.
Pardiss: We wanted a platform where we could share more exclusive content and connect with our fans while still feeling comfortable with what the company stood for. Passes felt like the right fit because it wasn't about nudity or adult content.
What's one feature or part of Passes that's changed how you connect with your fans?
Pariya: We love the chat feature! It lets us actually get to know our fans, hear what's important to them, and have more personal connections.
Pardiss: Yes I agree, definitely the chat feature. It's made our interactions feel so much more personal because we get to hear directly from our fans and build a genuine connection with them.
Where do you see yourselves (together and on your own) a year from now, and what are you building toward?
Pariya: We are so young and want to explore any and all opportunities that we are presented, the goal is to say yes to everything that we think would be fun. We want to explore doing content that shows more of our personality and relationship. Our did is in high end construction and so have always had an interest in interiors and design and are hoping to purchase a place in LA to start.
Pardiss: We are exploring some opportunities that show our fans more behind the scenes look at our life. I think that there is a lot of misconception about what goes into being an influencers and we want to let everything get a glimpse. We are also exploring investment opportunities, whether it's real estate and/or our own brand.
