What Do We Mean by "Creating Safe Spaces"?
Creating a safe space on Passes means building an online community where creators and fans feel protected, respected, and supported. It means having clear standards for what content is acceptable, transparent processes for reviewing content, and accessible tools for creators to understand and respond to moderation decisions.
Every feature in this guide exists to support that goal.

Passes Community Guidelines
Our Community Guidelines are one of the most valuable tools available to creators on Passes. They are designed to guide content creation in alignment with Passes' content moderation standards and to help creators build positive, thriving fan communities.
To make them as accessible as possible, the Community Guidelines are written in plain English and organized into clear categories. If you have not read them yet, we strongly recommend starting there before uploading content to Passes.
How Content Moderation Works on Passes
Passes uses a two-layer content moderation process to review all content uploaded to the platform.
Layer 1: AI Review
When content is uploaded to Passes, it is immediately reviewed by best-in-class AI moderation tools. This layer provides fast, consistent screening of all content against our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Layer 2: Human Review
Content flagged by the AI layer is then reviewed by a human agent who verifies the accuracy of the AI classification and updates the status if needed. This ensures that automated decisions are always checked by a real person before they take effect.
Content Status Definitions on Passes
To give creators clearer visibility into what is happening with their content, Passes has replaced the previous "flagged" status with more detailed, descriptive statuses.
- DM/Members Only: Content can be shared via DMs or posted on your wall, where it will only be visible to subscription holders
- Banned: Content found to be in breach of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service and cannot be shared on Passes

These statuses are designed to give you a clear, immediate understanding of your content's situation so you can take action quickly if needed.
How to Appeal a Content Decision on Passes
Passes has introduced a new Appeals tool that gives creators direct control over challenging moderation decisions they believe are incorrect.
How to Submit a Content Appeal
- Go to your Vault in your Passes account
- Find the piece of content you want to appeal
- Click the Appeal button on that content
- Submit your appeal
Appeals are prioritized within our moderation queues and will be reviewed within 24 hours of submission.
